Photoshop lets you create and alter raster images in much the same way that other image-editing programs do.
This exercise shows you how to create a new layer and place it in a window that’s divided up into three panes. In this example, we’re creating a new layer and then using the Pencil tool to create the first shape of an image. The new layer is created by clicking the New Layer button at the bottom of the Layers palette (see Figure 11-1).

The New Layer button is typically the last tool in the toolbox on the right side of the screen. However, the button moves, which means that you may not find the New Layer button the first time you open Photoshop.
3. Click the Create New Layer button.
When the Create New Layer button appears, click it.
After you create a new layer, it displays in the Layers palette, as shown in Figure 11-

Adobe Photoshop Elements supports all the features of the standard version, except the Layer menu. The adjustment tools in Elements, however, have more options available and offer better control.
The main tool in the Adjustments panel is the Curves tool, which lets you make image adjustments by changing the curve. The default setting is to create curves between the black-and-white point and white point, and between the black-and-white point and the mid-tones. You can also adjust contrast, curves, shadows, mid-tones, highlights and vibrance.
The first option is the âCurvesâ setting. If you chose a default setting of Curves in the tools menu (as shown in the figure to the right), it opens the âCurvesâ dialog box, shown in the figure below.

This society plays a huge role in creating this false environment by hiding behind the excuse of âboys will be boysâ and âasking for itâ.
Sexual predators rarely wear a sign that says âIâm a sexual abuserâ. We may begin to wonder if we are in control of our own body and bodies of others. How do we take back that control? How do we educate? How do we teach self respect and body integrity in our society?
