To grasp how parking garage counting systems work – and why they often don’t work – we spoke with Dale Fowler, company director of Indect USA, a division of an Austrian agency that designs and Motorrad Ankauf installs advanced parking guidance techniques for airports, hospitals, malls and casinos all over the world. His firm’s bread and butter is a single-house system that mounts a sensor over each single parking spot in the garage and indicates open areas with simple-to-spot inexperienced LED lights.
The electric motor’s job is to use torque to the entrance wheel axle to spin the two front wheels. The management unit varies the pace of the car by increasing or lowering the facility utilized to the motor. When the controller applies most energy from the fuel-cell stack, the motor’s rotor spins at 12,000 revolutions per minute, delivering a torque of 159 pound-toes. A single-stage planetary gear, with a ratio of 8.67:1, steps up the torque to use a maximum of 1,375 pound-toes to every wheel. That is sufficient torque to maneuver the 4,200-pound (1,905-kg) automotive one hundred miles per hour (161 kph) on a level highway. Smaller electric motors maneuver the wheels to steer the automobile, and electrically managed brake calipers bring the car to a cease.
The heart of the brand new Africa Twin is a a lot-tweaked 1,084-cc overhead-cam parallel-twin engine. While Honda USA does not publish official horsepower and torque numbers for its bikes, I can say that the 86-cc bump in displacement is welcome and makes the bike even easier to trip thanks to a broader powerband and fatter torque curve. The bike is available with both a six-pace guide or a six-velocity twin-clutch transmission, and the latter can operate as a totally automatic gearbox or as a button-shift guide.
