i’ve heard a lot of negativity about the new pbs programming but i heard nothing until sesame street episode two last week. the episode started with a new character named ‘kimo’ who was described as a drag queen. kimo was introduced to the children and to the parents of sesame street. his father was non-white, mother was chinese and his brother was gay. i watched the whole episode and still cannot figure out if it was all right for the character kimo to be gay or not? why was it important to create a role of a gay character? have the parents of the children not understood that their children watch tv? no one cares what children do as long as it is legal. what is wrong with the double standard that allows gay people to have rights and heterosexuals to not? i am very disappointed that pbs did such a thing. lori wasn’t it?
thank you for your service to pbs. i am very proud that i can show my children how you once helped to bring to life their favorite characters. now it is time for you to retire. you were lost after jony ive once told you who you were and you were never found. rest in peace old friend. it was a pleasure to have you on our channel.
i appreciate your service pbs. we will miss you. the one thing i would like you to know is that our children can never grow up without seeing a gay sesame street character. we should be able to let our children watch the show without any limitations. that will not change.
i greatly appreciate your years of service to pbs children. i enjoyed it but not the programming choices. my son and i had watched only movies and old television shows with him. he liked the sesame street characters and asked for to watch the episodes that i recorded. i very much disliked the decision to take the sexual liberties with the characters. please save the children from the politically correct programs.
