Black Powder combines an immersive 3rd-person shooter with a real-time strategy game, also known as FPS-RT, in a unique adventure full of deadly encounters. The new FPS-RT is set in the Far West of 1874, inspired by the world that was just opening in the old United States, a time when the old West has not yet been tamed by the law and when the whole country is celebrating the passage of a new treaty by the peace treaty makers, in which the American will recognise the Independence of the Native tribes of the west.
Everything seems to go according to the plan… Until the stage is set for the biggest showdown and the greatest catastrophe: the Gold rush. In Black Powder, the time travels are real, and are never ending. As the story advances, the player will be able to make multiple choices, being able to witness the world that was just opening and decide the path of the story.
The game uses the reality of time travel, which has the character of a television game, instead of making use of standard game mechanics that would not allow the player to have choices.

Over the last few weeks I have been drawing monsters from the horror genre. I’ve collected most of them here in the article galleries. I will refer to them by title rather than by picture in the main article. Terror Police
Randy ‘Redlightnation’ Wicker of the Onion’s A.V. Club has written an in-depth article on the USA Patriot Act. His conclusion is that Congress didn’t pass the Patriot Act in a fit of rage, and it definitely wasn’t done with the intent to completely re-write the Constitution.
Wicker cites two examples in the Patriot Act that work against his case, but one of the examples that he cites is one that I’m not entirely certain he understands.
In an article titled “So They Say” from the Boston Globe in September 2001, USA Patriot Act supporter Republican Senator Orrin Hatch repeatedly criticized Al Gore for giving a speech in which he was skeptical of the Patriot Act. In this speech, Mr. Gore called the Patriot Act a “Christmas gift to the telecoms” and said Congress was planning to “strengthen the power of the Federal Communications Commission.” Senator Hatch responded to the Gore speech by calling it “more concerned with the rights of the giant communications companies than with the victims of the al Qaeda attacks.”
