A good review… If you edit your images with Photoshop Elements or Photoshop it is easy to duplicate the layers and save the image to a suitable format for your computer. It’s also easy for me to use the Replace layers function. I would prefer a clear button for shadows such as the kind you get with Premier in the title image for the find tool. Also, when you save an image you don’t get a “Save image as…” option. Some images use all their layers or the layers may be in some kind of in-between state. I find it helpful to open the image and in the layers dialogo find the active layer and duplicate it if necessary. I use the Duplicate layer tool to accomplish this. My experience in one of the images used as the cover is that the shadow and sepia layers have been replaced and all the image adjusted to fit without any obvious traces to how the image went to the printer.
The reason I mentioned the cover image is that if you don’t want to waste page space that should generate charges it is worth thinking about how to get the cover image on the front of the book.
