This software is not easy to use. It’s a powerful editor, I’ll admit it, but it’s not something you want from the word “go,” because it has a learning curve. Fortunately, the learning curve has been lowered in previous versions; you no longer have to start with the “Get Started” tutorial, which is all well and good for rookies. But the big change this time around is accessibility. I’ve tried to profile some of the best schools for learning Photoshop, but even they don’t claim it’s easy to learn Photoshop.
Because of the number of features, learnability issues, and accessibility, some things are either easy or impossible to find at all. I’ve tried, as best I can, to point out what’s there — adding in a few new features, yet providing you with a rundown of some of the more difficult features, as well.
Thereâs only one way to really put it: This is the best app of its format, and quite possibly the best app of its type, free or paid. Itâs as easy to use as analog on a handheld slit camera, and as powerful as conventional digital SLR kit. For all intents and purposes (and thereâs really no substitute for the ultimate test), itâs Adobeâs finest digital camera since its first model was introduced in 1988. I didnât spend much time with it. It was my first visit, a quick look at all the models, and I intend to return soon to see if I can figure out how to work this baby.
The functionality of the software is as simple as it gets. You get a camera lens (HDR and standard), simple camera controls (bracket and focus), eight camera-related tools and four view combinations. I did some image and video tests, and handled image adjustments better than I do with top-flight digital SLR kit. The user interface is no-fuss. Itâs obvious how to do everything.

Canva is an incredibly accessible software that is designed especially for people with no graphic design training or knowledge. It is easy to use and the templates make graphic design possible for everyone. Canva is absolutely awesome and offers tons of great tools. If you are looking for something seriously fun to use, then you canât go wrong with Canva.
What It Does: The Blend tool in Photoshop lets you combine the colors of two images, like two shades of green, or a photo and a pattern to make a new image. Right when you open it up, a menu of blending options appears in the tool’s toolbox, letting you choose how much of the image you want to blend in. It will either create an expression blending, which creates a darker or lighter version of the image, or a soft blending, which spaces out the colors of the source images to create a shimmery look.
What It Does: The Eraser tool is used to remove areas of your image. You can also use the Eraser tool to remove color areas of an image, like shadows, highlights, or anything else, like a grungy part of a painting, painting over something to create a new texture, or removing a text to refine it.
What It Does: The Eyedropper tool is used to connect to a specific color or an object in an image. You can also search for the color youâre looking for within the photo youâre working on.

Photoshop will become cross-platform in the future. In other words, you will be able to open files saved on macOS in Photoshop Elements on Windows, and vice versa. The cross-platform feature allows designers to simultaneously work on a single file from multiple Macs or Windows devices.
