Mei-Yuan Wu is a mechanical engineer, a mathematician and a professor of University of California, Berkeley. She is recognized for inventing the first completely microscopic quantum computer, a macroscopic device built from individual single-atom traps.
Education
Wu received a BS degree in mechanical engineering from the National Tsing Hua University in 1974 and a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan in 1979.
Career
Since 2006, Wu has been a faculty at the University of California, Berkeley. She was a visiting professor at the University of British Columbia and at the Arizona State University. She is a member of the Materials Research Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Tinnitus is a common symptom and can severely affect the patient’s quality of life. To date, there are few pharmacological treatments for tinnitus. Glucocorticoids are known to modulate the response of auditory neurons to sound. Given the relationship between corticosteroids and tinnitus, intratympanic dexamethasone may be an effective intervention. This paper reviews the literature of intratympanic dexamethasone for tinnitus, including clinical studies, experimental models and in vitro studies. Intratympanic dexamethasone is a new treatment for tinnitus that has a well-accepted safety profile and is therefore potentially a low-risk alternative to intratympanic acetylcholine. Case series indicate an improvement in tinnitus, however, these studies are limited by small numbers and short follow-up. THE GOOD
While still not the most spastic or original piece of fiction I’ve ever seen, Hex showcases a character recently reintroduced to the Wheel of Time series with a strong presence in the books and a seeming familiarity with the way things are set up in this particular world. He can often be a bit grating, but I think this novel presents a nice example of how really lazy teens can get. I mean, if you want to argue whether a one page poem is an example of magic, go right ahead.
